Scott Hovey has been in banking as a Commercial Banker for over eight years, and with Solera National Bank since 2012.   Prior to the start of his commercial banking career, Scott ran his own business which helped develop a special interest and ability in both construction lending and real estate lending.

“I appreciate that Solera National Bank is a community bank and we focus on honest, efficient and courteous service. Our size allows us to make that extra effort for each of our customers and structure a personalized relationship that best supports each customer’s needs,” says Scott.

Scott has worked with many small businesses, and likes to help guide them through the lending process. Scott suggests that securing small business financing can be challenging. Whether just starting out or looking to grow, banks and lending institutions can be rigorous in their lending review practices. Business owners should be prepared with a detailed business plan before meeting with a loan officer to have an initial review of a loan request. As a Preferred SBA Lender, Solera National Bank welcomes the opportunity to help business owners work through the process and structure financing that best suits their needs. Typically a credit decision is based on the “5-C’s” of business lending: Character, Capacity, Collateral, Conditions and Capital.

Scott is also passionate about Mental Health America of Colorado and the Vail Valley Youth Foundation where he can put his skills to work for others in need, as well as skiing, biking, playing hockey, and spending time solving puzzles with his family.
